Monroe #1 BOCES Teacher Center

Our Teacher Center is part of a powerful statewide network of 133 Teacher Centers dedicated to delivering customized “grass roots” services to educators. Our Teacher Center grant funds are exclusively for for Monroe #1 BOCES staff.

The Monroe #1 BOCES Teacher Center provides professional development programs and a wide range of resources to support instruction. Services are available to teachers, support staff, paraprofessionals, and administrators who work for Monroe #1 BOCES. The Teacher Center is open from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. The director, Ginny Gorski can be reached at 249-7021/249-7024 or at ginny_gorski@boces.monroe.edu

                             PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT  

Study Groups: Click here Study Groups to find out how to share your expertise with your colleagues and... start a STUDY GROUP. The Teacher Center pays facilitators and provides materials. Technology Training To provide or suggest a technology workshop for BOCES staff contact the Center. 

Mentor Program: A combination of funds from the NYS Mentor Teacher Intern Partnership grant, the Teacher Center grant and Monroe #1 BOCES fund the mentor program. Our mentor program is guided by the Monroe #1 BOCES Mentor Advisory Board which includes a group of teachers and administrators comprised of 51% teachers. If you have an interest in becoming part of this group please contact the BUP. The Monroe #1 BOCES Mentor Guide and the application to be a mentor are at the bottom of this page.

The POLICY BOARD Your Liaison

Policy Board Click here to find out about your Policy Board representative. Teacher Centers are governed by a policy board that is, by law, composed of at least 51% teachers. Each Center provides services to its constituents based on locally determined needs.
