Deaf Education

Parents and school districts work together to develop an individual educational plan (IEP) for students. The school district may request BOCES to provide services.

The Monroe #1 BOCES Program for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing aims to:

  • support local districts in providing a quality education for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing in an included setting in neighborhood schools
  • provide Deaf and Hard of Hearing students access to the educational opportunities in their schools
  • provide parents with necessary information to make sound educational decisions for their children
