Distance Learning
The Distance Learning CoSer is designed to provide live interactive instruction from a participating host site to multiple receiving sites. Individual online computer-based courses are offered to students and staff who are unable to receive their desired course through their school or via the interactive network of schools. A variety of distance learning options are available through distance learning for students and staff. In addition to actual courses, video conferencing allows staff and students of any age, the opportunity to connect to cultural institutions, experts from around the world and acts as a medium for meetings. Most BOCES in NYS have similar networks that allow interactions with schools in their areas, as well as bridging capabilities that allow for many sites to connect with large conferences around the state or the world. Our bridge allows for multiple bandwidth connections in the same conference (ISDN, IP, etc). In-house technical support can be quoted. Aidable staff development and student courses are available. Higher education courses are also available for a fee. This service includes program coordination, college and high school course scheduling, equipment installation, video conference testing and connections, equipment maintenance, as well as staff development and technical assistance as needed.
