Shared Staff

Through the Monroe Regional Information Center, districts are able to make use of the regional expertise of BOCES staff members. Shared staff spend a portion of their time working on the specific needs of districts while also being involved with the wider network of BOCES staff members in order to share information, support each other with specialized skills and identify common problems and solutions.
This shared approach, reduces time spent on troubleshooting and increases the regional knowledge base.

The following areas contain shared staff positions:

  • Teachers on Leave (TOL): An enhancement to the Instructional Technology Service, is a BOCES-employed school district teacher who assists in integrating technology with curriculum.
  • Audio Visual Attendant (AVA): Another option of the Instructional Computing Service, is a BOCES-employed person who assists in the development of activities and materials to be used in computer labs and classrooms.

  • Junior Technicians: Junior Technicians do installations of hardware and software, account creation, basic account administration, print queue administration, general troubleshooting and assistance.
