Collaborative Learning Supports
All Creekside classrooms are designed to meet the comprehensive learning needs of students.
Students have individual programs that may include supports and services such as:
- speech/language therapy;
- occupational therapy;
- physical therapy;
- music therapy;
- and/or counseling.
Students participate in core academics within the classroom and special subjects such as:
- physical education;
- art;
- music;
- consumer and family sciences;
- health;
- makerspace;
- and prevocational experiences.
Beyond our comprehensive academic program, Creekside focuses on developing daily living and pro-social skills for all students. Every daily activity and lesson is designed to promote functional skill development.
Students are provided with opportunities within the classroom as well as within the community (Community Based Instruction) to practice and generalize these skills.
Transition Programs
Creekside transition rooms focus on preparing students for the transition from school to post-secondary life.
The transition program is designed for students ages 18-22 as they work toward a Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential.
Through authentic learning experiences, both in school and in the community, the Creekside transition program teaches students to perform key daily living, social, vocational, and recreational skills as independently as possible.
These services are educationally designed to provide the necessary skills for specific jobs and post-secondary placements.
