    The Regional Early Childhood Direction Center (RECDC) is a grant funded program by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). RECDC has been in existence since 1979 and began as a clearinghouse of information about children birth to 5 years. RECDC continues to support families by providing information and assists in linking them to needed programs and services. In addition, RECDC offers support to programs that provide services to young children by offering technical assistance, and training across our 11 county region.

    RECDC serves the following counties:

    • Ontario
    • Schuyler
    • Seneca
    • Steuben
    • Wayne
    • Wyoming
    • Yates

    There are 14 Early Childhood Direction Centers (ECDC) across New York State to help serve all families in need of support.

    Services We Provide

    RECDC is available five days a week to provide a wealth of information to families and providers of children with special needs.

    In addition to information and resources we also provide consultation, workshops and professional development for parents and others who work in the field of early childhood. RECDC specializes in linking families to programs and services for children birth to five years. The assistance we provide is free of charge and always based on individual needs and preferences of the family or programs we work with.
