Regional Technical Assistance Specialists

  • The RSE-TASC at Monroe One BOCES works in partnership the Special Education Quality Assurance (SEQA) offices, component BOCES and other NYSED/Office of Special Education supported initiatives to coordinate and provide directed and data-driven technical assistance and professional development to improve instructional practices and outcomes for students with disabilities.

    The targeted technical assistance provided by the RSE-TASC at BOCES will cover a service area that includes 76 school districts in 4 BOCES regions (Genesee Valley, Wayne Finger Lakes, Monroe 1 and Monroe 2-Orleans, including Rochester City School District).

    Locally staffed and directed by BOCES administrators, services are provided by school improvement specialists, a regional special education training specialist, a behavior specialist, a transition specialist, a bilingual specialist and a non-district specialist. Work of the RSE-TASC is directed and guided by NYSED’s Office of Special Education and is offered at no charge to districts. The work is overseen, locally, by the regional coordinator.
