In January, 65 people lost their homes due to a fire at the Pines of Perinton apartment complex.
According to fire officials, the first call came around 3:30 in the morning reporting the fire.
Smoke detectors alerted many of the people sleeping inside to evacuate.
Many were left with just the clothes they had on at the time.
EMCC students joined in on the recovery efforts; helping to gather donations for those who lost everything.
Emergency Services instructor Sean O’Donnell shared that students in his class, together with folks from Dr. Brittay Colaruotolo’s office gathered donations for victims of the fire.
