Season of Service: New Vision Medical Careers students give back

The New Vision Medical Careers students spent the month of December making the holidays bright for children in the Rochester area. Balancing schoolwork with service, these students collected and distributed toys, and entertained dozens of deserving kids.

The season kicked off on December 2 at the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center family holiday party, where students, dressed in festive attire, led games and crafts.

Then, New Vision Medical Careers partnered with VISION Automotive Group for the Reason for the Season Toy Drive. They collected donated toys, planned the event, and brought Santa’s Workshop to life for over 500 pediatric patients from Rochester Regional Health. On December 13, children and their families experienced a magical day, meeting Santa, enjoying holiday treats, and picking out toys to take home.

On December 18, the students continued their outreach by delivering toys, games, coloring books, and winter essentials to the Pediatric Emergency Room and in-patient units at Rochester General Hospital. These generous donations came from a long-time donor.

The students also extended their efforts by organizing and delivering winter gear and toys that came from Rochester Public Market donations.

By weaving these service projects into the curriculum, New Vision Medical Careers teachers gave students meaningful, hands-on opportunities to connect and grow. The students embraced each act of service wholeheartedly, spreading joy and making the holiday season brighter for countless families.
