Construction Trades students from EMCC recently assisted the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team during the renovation of Monroe One’s Safety and Security building. 

Penfield student Claire D. and Corban S. from the West Irondequoit Central School District are gaining hands-on experience this school year through internships with O&M. As part of their work, they helped renovate Building 7, installing new flooring and lighting, as well as painting throughout the space. 

Internships like these provide EMCC students with career and technical education experiences outside the classroom. Both internal opportunities at Monroe One and the valuable partnerships with local organizations help prepare students for future careers.
