Monroe One holds annual meeting, presents proposed administrative budget

Monroe One BOCES hosted board members and superintendents from its component school districts at its Annual Meeting on April 4. District Superintendent Dan White and Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations Lisa Ryan presented the BOCES proposed $5,586,353 administrative budget for the 2019-2020 school year. The proposed budget is a -1.08% decrease over the current year.

“During our budget development process, we continue the process of refining the accuracy of our pricing structure as well as attempting to realize opportunities to reduce and control costs where possible,” White said. “We also continue the process of conducting internal programmatic reviews in an effort to enhance the quality of what we offer.”

On April 23, component school board members will vote on the administrative portion of the budget and elect members to the BOCES Board of Education. Seeking re-election are D. Bryan Buttram, representing the Rush-Henrietta Central School District, and Laura Whitcomb, representing the East Rochester Union Free School District. Newcomer Nita Lumb-Singh D.D.S., representing the Pittsford Central School District, is seeking election to her first term. Each three-year term begins July 1.

The administrative budget is detailed in the annual Budget Book, a document that includes each district’s share of the administrative and capital charges. The 2019-20 Budget Book may be accessed online here.
