New Vision elves help spread holiday cheer

Leading up to the holiday break, Santa’s helpers from EMCC helped create a toy workshop for hundreds of area families.

The students with New Vision Medical Careers, in a partnership with Rochester General Hospital, helped collect an estimated two thousand toys at different drop off points throughout the Rochester area. They then organized all of the toys and helped kids shop for their perfect gift.

The children are past or current pediatric patients at Rochester Regional Health. The toy drive was started 14 years ago by the Vision Automotive Group.

Families are invited by medical providers to come, enjoy hot chocolate and pictures with Santa before shopping with our EMCC students. Around 300 people came out, including local media and radio personalities to show their support.

All leftover gifts will be delivered to Rochester Regional Health so young patients can pick out a gift while they are at the hospital. Often, the generosity of donors allows the hospital system to give children a free toy throughout the entire year.
