Learning plans for the upcoming school year

Learning Plans

The New York State Department of Health requires districts to have plans in place for three instruction models: in-person, remote and hybrid

In-person

All Monroe One BOCES students and staff will attend school in person up to five (5) days per week (required for all students attending in person: masks, social distancing and/or other PPE as required by NYSDOH)

Remote

All Monroe One BOCES students will take part in full-time remote instruction online with teachers delivering course content to students remotely

Hybrid

Students will attend school in person two days a week, with remote learning the other three days. Monroe One is working with component districts to coordinate the students’ schedules to match that of their home district.

Schedules will be made available to our school community on or before August 15th to allow families time to plan for childcare and work arrangements.

Additional information on learning plans can be found in this section of the reopening plan.

Transition Plan

In the event that we need to transition to a hybrid or remote model in any of our programs, we will continue to engage students in both synchronous and asynchronous instruction to increase engagement, promote continual growth and connectedness.

Synchronous

Remote Synchronous Instruction:

Two-way, real-time/live virtual instruction between teachers and students when students are not on campus.

In this method, the required amount of instructional time is scheduled each day.

Synchronous instruction is provided through a computer or other electronic device.

Asynchronous

Remote Asynchronous Instruction:

Instruction that does not require having the instructor and student engaged at the same time.

In this method, students learn from instruction that is not necessarily being delivered in-person or in real time.

The student is required to be engaged daily throughout the school day with work and the teacher is required to give daily feedback.

Students may have set times they are required to interact virtually with the teacher.
