EMCC students to represent NYS at national SkillsUSA competition

Earlier this month, EMCC students participated in the NYS Skills USA competition, placing in a number of categories across the board.

Skills USA provides opportunities for growth through career competitions for high school students that support career and technical education in classrooms across the country.

Congratulations to the following EMCC students:

FIRST PLACE

Matthew Cholach (Rush-Henrietta), Blake Hodgson (Pittsford Mendon), and Bryan Webb (Fairport) placed first in the Automated Manufacturing and Machining competition.

Karter Derhak (Brighton) placed first in the Culinary Arts competition.

Matt, Blake, Bryan, and Karter will be representing New York State in the National Skills USA Competition in Atlanta next month.

Scott Froula (Pittsford Sutherland) placed first in the Auto Service Technology competition.

SECOND PLACE

Evan Carr (Fairport) placed second in the Carpentry competition.

THIRD PLACE

Andriy Farmiga (Pittsford Sutherland) placed third in the Welding competition.

Brandon Nashburn (Webster Schroeder) placed third in the CNC Milling competition.

Lisette Patterson (Fairport) placed third in the Culinary Arts competition.

Zachary Stewart (East Irondequoit) placed third in the Electrical Construction Wiring competition.
