Dan White named Outstanding Superintendent of the Year
Monroe One District Superintendent Dan White has been named New York State’s Outstanding Superintendent of the Year by the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO).
The recognition is awarded to a superintendent in New York State who has demonstrated exceptional support and appreciation for the role of the school business official and their contributions to a well-run school district or BOCES.
Nominated by his colleagues, Dan is noted for being a leader locally, regionally, and at the state level. As Chair of the District Superintendents, he is recognized and respected by his peers as the “go to” person and is instrumental in advocacy efforts behind the scenes with the NYSED, Board of Regents, the Educational Conference Board, ASBO NY, and with state and local legislative representatives.
He is often asked to provide input on new educational initiatives and decisions at the state level and is actively involved in legislative monitoring. He works to advise districts on pending legislation and develops reports on the financial impact of various proposals for state aid to public schools.
At his core, Dan is dedicated to ensuring that each and every student’s needs are met while ensuring attention is given to the district’s fiscal and educational responsibility.
As part of ASBO’s award, Monroe One will receive a $1,000 donation in Dan’s name to be used for the school community.
