Creekside, Monroe County Deputy Sheriff’s Association team up for Thanksgiving Day meals
Every year, Creekside School holds a food drive for its families. Organized by Emily Shaw and Leslie Glende, it provides food for dozens and dozens of people.
Donations are provided by community members, staff, students and their families. A key community partner in the success of this annual food drive includes the Monroe County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
The MCDSA represents civil and jail deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Each year, they partner up with Monroe One to provide turkeys. This year, they provided dozens of turkeys and meal essentials to provide 25 Thanksgiving meals.
In total, the food drive will provide around 50 meals for Creekside families. Students helped to organize all of the donations, putting together each basket that will go home with families ahead of the holiday.
