Monroe One team to present at national conference

Monroe One’s journey from traditional grading practices and beliefs to standards-based instruction has been transformative – and now it’s about to be presented to a national audience of educators.

The curriculum, instruction and professional learning team has been invited to present at the Professional Learning Association’s Leaning Forward Conference in Nashville, where more than 3,000 education leaders are expected to attend.

The team’s presentation will cover the collaboration and development of a standards-based road map for teachers of kindergarten through high school students. They plan to talk about the district-wide consistent language, practices and beliefs that got CIPL to the place it’s in now.

The CIPL team supports Monroe One teachers to develop and implement standards-based learning. The idea is to empower districts at the Leaning Forward conference with strategies and tools to use with their own staff. The session titled “Road to Standards-Based Grading” is planned for Tuesday, December 6.
