Board Members Honored by NYSSBA for Outstanding Leadership

Monroe One BOCES is proud to announce that two members of its Board of Education have been recognized by the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) for their ongoing commitment to professional development and excellence in governance.

Margaret Burns, representing the West Irondequoit Central School District, has earned the Board Excellence Award, a Level 2 recognition given to board members who have accumulated at least 150 points through participation in NYSSBA training opportunities, conventions, and leadership roles.

Lisa Latten, the Penfield Central School District representative, received the prestigious Board Mastery Award, a Level 3 honor that requires a minimum of 250 points. This award reflects her sustained dedication to advancing her knowledge and skills to better serve the students and communities of Monroe One.

NYSSBA’s Board Excellence Recognition Program highlights the significant time and effort board members invest to strengthen their leadership and support effective school governance.
