Best-selling author of children’s historical fiction.  Lauren’s presentation combines accounts of hope and resilience with insights into the process of researching and writing.  She shares her story of being a struggling reader with little writing ability to become a successful author.

One of her most recent books is I Survived the Galveston Hurricane, 1900 (I Survived series #21, Gr. 3-7).  She is also the author of the award-winning Emma-Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree, and is the editor of Storyworks Magazine, contributing nonfiction articles.
