How to Register for a Meeting

    • Click on a Registration link under a meeting time on this page.

    • Or click on the Registration link in a Parent Group Meeting Notice Reminder emailed to families from Urban-Suburban two weeks prior to the meeting.

    • Parents wishing to attend must register in advance.

    • All registrations will be approved on a first come first serve basis until meeting is at capacity.

    • After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

    Please join us to learn more about how to keep yourself and your family healthy. We will have a Registered Dietician discuss ways to eat a healthy and well-balanced diet. A representative from URMC’s Center for Community Health & Prevention will also be present to discuss their programs available in the community.

  • HBCU Colleges

    Please join us for an introduction to Historically Black Colleges and Universities for students in the Urban Suburban Program. HBCUs offer all students, regardless of race, an opportunity to develop their skills and talents. These institutions train young people who go on to serve domestically and internationally in professions such as entrepreneurs and in the public and private sectors.

    Navigating uncomfortable situations within your district

    Please join us as we explore the navigation of uncomfortable situations that may arise within your student's educational experience. This meeting is designed to provide our parents with the tools and resources to self-advocate for their students by collaborating to forge better partnerships with their school district.

  • Coping with Community Violence and Trauma

    Do you want to learn strategies to help students deal and cope with the violence in our community?
     
    Community violence affects us all in different ways.  This meeting will discuss ways to provide support for our students and give them the tools to cope.  This meeting will also discuss the ways we can engage our youth in staying safe.  Please join us!

    This parent meeting on stress management offers a range of strategies to help you better deal with stress and difficulty (adversity) in your life. Managing stress can help you lead a more balanced, healthier life. Please join us in our last parent meeting as we discuss tools and resources for coping with stress in our everyday lives.

    Parent Meetings will continue to be virtual via Zoom. You may have an opportunity to attend an in-person parent meeting based on your District.

    These are the dates for Urban-Suburban Parent Meetings; however there may be conditions beyond our control that occur during the school year that may cause changes.

    Parents are required to attend a minimum of 2 meetings per year. If you do not fulfill your meeting requirement, you will be referred to the Superintendent of your district.
