The local media recently highlighted our Project LIFE students and the work they are doing to help Golisano Autism Center Rochester get ready for its opening.
Monroe One's six-week Extended School Year (ESY) program is underway in a number of programs/locations, including O'Connor Academy, Creekside School - Monroe 1 BOCES, Bird/Morgan School, eSTART and RH Integrated. “ESY allows students to maintain their progress on IEP goals and have a fun summer experience with classmates,” said Director of Student Programs and Services Dr. Cherie Becker.
For three-weeks this summer, 15 students from Monroe One BOCES' component school districts are participating in SAME (Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience) taught by our Automated Manufacturing & Machining Teacher Len Hall. Through this experience, students will tour six high-end companies and complete projects in the shop at EMCC. The program culminates on July 26 with an awards ceremony at MCC. Upon completion of the program, students will already have earned three college credits through MCC in machine shop lab TAM 141.
