Students from the Eastern Monroe Career Center participated in the 14th Annual Creative Leadership Conference held at St. John Fisher College, Nov. 18-20, 2019. Over the course of the three days, students engaged in creative problem solving, collaboration and innovation by exploring different mindsets, principles and tools. Students used their new skills to work with business clients on the final day of the conference, the much-anticipated Client Day. Joining us this year were special guests Betsy Verschage from Isaac Cooling & Heating, Shane Rhinewald of the Museum of Play and Rebecca Valladares of CooperVision.
Macie may be a small standard poodle, but when she visits Bird/Morgan School twice a week she’s kind of a big deal. From the time Macie walks into the school, she’s greeted by the office staff and receives lots of attention from faculty, staff and students on the walk to the school library where she’ll spend part of her day providing comfort and support to students.
EMCC Advanced Culinary students experienced a great time at the Rochester National Center for Missing & Exploited Children fundraiser, DISH IT OUT, Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Floreano Convention Center. Students volunteered at several stations and competed as well. They were awarded the People's Choice Award (1st place) for desserts for the fourth consecutive year!
Monroe One BOCES' Foreman Center was full of excitement and collaboration on Halloween! EMCC’s Early Childhood Education students and their Teens & Tots students visited the Culinary Arts program for this annual, cross-program collaboration. The little ones made a variety of treats and foods with the Culinary students before they visited several other EMCC programs to trick or treat.
