Monroe One shares the overall goals of the NYSED for the 2021-22 school year; keep students and staff healthy and safe, be responsive to student needs, and maximize in-person teaching and learning.
This COVID Management Plan has been developed to be in line with guidance from the New York State Education Department, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the NYS Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Monroe County Department of Public Health.
In addition, Gov. Hochul recently announced a universal mask requirement for all schools.
The main points you will see outlined in this COVID management plan include:
masking indoors for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status
masking on all forms of school transportation
no masks required while outdoors
approved field trips, CBIs and internships can continue with appropriate protocols
in-person meetings and professional development can continue with appropriate protocols
HVAC run times and enhanced cleaning protocols will continue
The information within this plan will be reviewed and updated as necessary.
Welcoming students back 5 days a week
Students will be coming back to in-person instruction five days a week.
Monroe One will be following the recommended layered approach in preventing the spread of the virus within our school buildings. This includes continuing to wear a mask, practice social distancing, continuing increased ventilation protocols and enhanced cleaning procedures.
The first layer begins at home. All staff, students, and visitors are asked to self-screen for symptoms of COVID and to remain home if sick.
Information on when someone should get tested for COVID and when they can return to school/work is included in this plan.
Masks will be required for everyone inside of Monroe One buildings, regardless of vaccination status.
Physical distancing of 3-feet in classrooms and at least 6-feet when eating/drinking or other activities when a mask must be removed will be in place.
