Best Practices to Avoid Lead in Drinking Water
-
The New York State Department of Health says the best day-to-day practice is to use only cold water for drinking or food preparation as hot water tanks may concentrate lead in the water. Health Officials suggest to then clear the line by letting the water run for 30 – 60 seconds, or until the water feels cold, before using it.
