Daniel T. White

District Superintendent

Daniel T. White is the District Superintendent at Monroe #1 BOCES in Fairport, NY. He has served in this role since January of 2009. Prior to that, Dan served as the Superintendent of Schools in the Perry Central School District from July 2005 through January 2009. He has also served as a senior high principal and as a school counselor during his career.

Dan earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1991 at SUNY Geneseo and his Master of Science in Education at the University of Rochester in 1993. He completed his Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration at SUNY Brockport in December 2002. Dan also has served as an adjunct instructor in the Educational Administration Program at SUNY Brockport and is the Chair Emeritus of the New York State District Superintendents.

Dr. Cathleen Hauber

Deputy District Superintendent

Dr. Hauber joined Monroe One BOCES as the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Programs in July 2017. Cathy is a graduate of the University at Buffalo where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development. Cathy also attended Canisius College earning her Master of Science, Counselor Education. Cathy also attended the University of Rochester and earned a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership, as well as Building and District Level Administrative Certification.

Cathy served as Elementary Principal at Marion Central School District from April 2010 to July 2017. Prior to her work at Marion, Cathy served the Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District as both School Counselor, as well as the Family Support Center Program Coordinator and Counselor from 2000 to 2010.

In 2023, the Board of Education named her Deputy District Superintendent of Monroe One. 

Cathy has worked with districts and organizations in the region and across the state to support the development of teacher leadership models, standards-based grading approaches, strengthening school cultures, personalized learning, and collaborative leadership practices. Her career development and professional involvement includes work as President and Lead Contract Developer and Negotiator for the Marion Administrators Association; memberships in Learning Forward (The Professional Learning Association), the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD); and as a Board member of the Wayne-Finger Lakes Leadership Institute.

Scott R. Covell

Assistant Superintendent for Management Services

Scott Covell joined Monroe #1 BOCES as Assistant Superintendent for Management Services in July 2014. Scott is a graduate of St. Lawrence University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He also attended SUNY Brockport where he earned a Master of Science in Educational Administration and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Business Administration.

Scott served as Assistant Superintendent for Business at Fairport Central School District from January 2001 to July 2014. Prior to his work at Fairport, Scott served as Assistant Superintendent for Business at Mexico Central School District (1997), and as School Business Administrator at Sandy Creek Central School District (1995). Scott’s school administration experience includes managing the school business function, personnel administration, payroll, employee benefits and directing the supervision of school support services including buildings and grounds, transportation, food service and technology.

Scott is a member of numerous professional associations, including the New York State Association of School Business Officials (NYSASBO); NYS Association of Management Advocates for School Labor Affairs (MASLA); Member, Government Relations Committee, NYSASBO; Board of Directors, Rochester Area Workers Compensation Plan; Vice Chairman, Rochester Area School Health Plan II; Board of Directors, Rochester Area School Health Plan I; and served as President of the Rochester Chapter of Association of School Business Officials.

Bridget Harris

Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Technology

Bridget Harris has served Monroe One in various roles, including the Assistant Director of Monroe Accountability, Assessment & Reporting (MAARS), where she supported both Monroe One and Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES.

In 2023, Bridget transitioned into the role of Director of the Monroe Regional Information Center, where she led the team to enhance, support, and transform instruction through the use of current and emerging technologies.

A seasoned education professional with a wealth of experience in the field, Bridget was named Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Technology in late 2023.

Throughout her career, Bridget has held various positions, ranging from a classroom teacher to a building principal, giving her a unique perspective on the needs of students and educators alike.  

Bridget aims to build a collaborative environment while focusing instructionally on promoting high standards through student engagement and continuing to keep cybersecurity at the center of the RIC’s mission, strengthening the safety of our digital information and keeping students secure.

Lisa N. Ryan

Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations

Lisa Ryan joined Monroe #1 BOCES as Business Manager on July 1, 2010. Lisa is a graduate of St. John Fisher College where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 1988. She earned her Masters of Science degree at SUNY Brockport in 1994 and went on to complete her Certificate of Advanced Study in School Business Administration at SUNY Brockport in 1995.

Lisa served as a School Business Administrator at Geneseo Central School District from February 2003 through June 2010. Prior to her work at Geneseo, Lisa served as a Shared School Business Administrator from 2000 to 2003 at both Mount Morris Central School District and the Wyoming Central School District. She worked as the Manager, Financial Services, at Genesee Valley BOCES from 1995 to October 2000, also serving as Treasurer of GV BOCES from 1991 to 1996. During that time, Lisa also served as the Treasurer/Itinerant School Business Official at Wyoming Central Schools from April 1993 to July 1994. Lisa began her career in 1990 as a Staff Auditor at Raymond F. Wager, CPA in Rochester, NY.

Lisa is a member of numerous professional associations, including the New York State Association of School Business Officials, where she has served on the membership committee since 2006; Board Member of Genesee-Livingston – Wyoming Worker’s Compensation Board, since 2000 and Vice President since 2005; and is a graduate of New York State Association of School Business Officials, School Business Official Academy, 2005-2006.

Dr. Ellen Howe

Interim Director of Human Resources

Dr. Ellen Howe has been serving as the Interim Director of Human Resources throughout the 2023-2024 school year. Prior to this role, Dr. Howe was the Assistant Director of Human Resources. She started her career at Monroe One in 2009 as an Assistant Principal at Creekside, later becoming the Principal of Bird/Morgan School from 2012 to 2020, and then the HR Assistant Director in 2020.
 
Before joining Monroe One, Dr. Howe worked at Mary Cariola as a Teacher, Behavior Therapist, and Administrator, and also as a Teacher with Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, a Master's degree in Advanced Teaching, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport, and a Doctorate of Education in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University.
 
Dr. Howe is a member of the New York State Association of Management Advocates for School Labor Affairs (MASLA) and the New York State Association of School Personnel Administrators (NYSASPA). She has a strong background in special education, focusing on fostering safe and supportive learning environments for staff and students, and providing consistent support to all stakeholders, ensuring every member of the school community feels valued and empowered to succeed.
