Monroe One develops and implements programs and services that meet the diverse needs of general education students, special needs students with disabilities, and at-risk students. Resources are combined, when and where they are needed, to provide creative solutions that help students stay in school and ultimately achieve success, supporting Monroe One's belief that every student can succeed.A partner in education
Monroe One is one of 37 Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) operating throughout New York State. Monroe One is located in the Town of Perinton, a suburb southeast of Rochester, New York. Monroe One is a cooperative extension of the ten Monroe County suburban school districts on the east side of Rochester and also serves 134 school districts from 12 neighboring counties in western New York.
Supporting students
The strength of BOCES lies in how cost-savings programs are cooperatively provided to support students who need help meeting the learning standards, students preparing for college and careers, and adults in the community who are improving their skills.
Sharing services
Monroe One was initiated by its component school districts and chartered on January 5, 1956 to carry out a program of shared educational services and instruction. From those early years of providing a few shared staff, Monroe One has grown to offer more than 80 programs and services for more than 46,000 students in our ten component school districts.
