The State Education Department requires that each school must conduct and document eight fire drills in each school building between September 1 and December 1 and conduct four drills during the remainder of the school year.

Additionally, there must be two fire drills during the summer school period.

The annual fire inspection for Monroe One BOCES facilities, for fire hazards which might endanger the lives of students, teachers and employees therein, is completed every 11 months. Public notice of this is published in our official newspaper, Democrat & Chronicle. The result of passing this inspection is the award of the annual Certificate of Occupancy from the State Education Department.
