August 2021 Update
New classrooms are taking shape in O’Connor Academy and EMCC
In certain areas of campus you will see more walls going up instead of being taken down, as the first phase of the Capital Project takes shape in OCA and EMCC.
Near completion are the training kitchens, classroom, and wood workshop inside of O’Connor Academy. Across the hall, work is wrapping up in the new fitness center.
The Eastern Monroe Career Center is also getting a makeover. Across the street from the Foreman Center, you can easily see some of the improvements already made. From the parking lot, you will see framing in place to remove the garage-style doors and a thicker sidewalk to enable access for machinery and vehicles that students will be working with and on.
This includes blending workshops and classrooms into a more efficient floor plan for students and instructors. Work is nearly finished in the brand-new machine shop (which has moved to a new building), the welding shop, and the auto mechanic shop.
Demolition has started in the cosmetology classrooms, the training kitchens will be next.

June, 2021 Update
Summer work underway
The Capital Project will continue throughout the summer, focusing on building 1 of the Foreman Center along with buildings 4,5, and 6, which include EMCC and O’Connor Academy classrooms.
Staff and visitors coming into those buildings during this phase of construction are asked to avoid parking near the pool parking lot, as heavy construction equipment will be staged in that area.
Main parking lots near all buildings will remain open.
