  • Cooking up tradition with students

    It’s a tradition spanning a decade; teachers cooking up breakfast for students just before winter break. One day a year, Joe Alati’s collision shop turns into a casual diner. He brings in breakfast and opens the doors for students and graduates to stop by. They talk shop, catch up, and dig in.

  • New Vision elves help spread holiday cheer

    Leading up to the holiday break, Santa’s helpers from EMCC helped create a toy workshop for hundreds of area families. The students with New Vision Medical Careers, in a partnership with Rochester General Hospital, helped collect an estimated two thousand toys at different drop off points throughout the Rochester area. They then organized all of the toys and helped kids shop for their perfect gift.

  • Students participate in 14th annual Creative Leadership Conference

    Students from the Eastern Monroe Career Center participated in the 14th Annual Creative Leadership Conference held at St. John Fisher College, Nov. 18-20, 2019. Over the course of the three days, students engaged in creative problem solving, collaboration and innovation by exploring different mindsets, principles and tools. Students used their new skills to work with business clients on the final day of the conference, the much-anticipated Client Day. Joining us this year were special guests Betsy Verschage from Isaac Cooling & Heating, Shane Rhinewald of the Museum of Play and Rebecca Valladares of CooperVision.

  • Culinary students earn People’s Choice Award for 4th consecutive year

    EMCC Advanced Culinary students experienced a great time at the Rochester National Center for Missing & Exploited Children fundraiser, DISH IT OUT, Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Floreano Convention Center. Students volunteered at several stations and competed as well. They were awarded the People's Choice Award (1st place) for desserts for the fourth consecutive year!
