Vocational Experiences

  • All students are working daily for 1 hour and 30 minutes. They are in work placements within  the community. Students are currently working at the Jefferson Park Apartments, Fairport Baptist Home, St John's Home, Volunteers of America, Red Cross, and Pittsford Sutherland Cafeteria. Students are given a variety of experiences, learn about positive job skills and expected behaviors. The goal is to give students opportunities that are focused on learning skills that will prepare them for an adult placement. All students fill out time sheets and receive paychecks. They learn banking skills, how to budget their money, how to save money and the difference between wants and needs.
