Jeanette Adams-Price

Jeanette is an experienced elementary classroom teacher, professional developer, and education consultant and is currently an Instructional Specialist with the Professional Learning Team.  She is a seasoned conference presenter at the local, state, and national levels and has worked with teachers and administrators of all levels and content areas.   Her work as a professional developer and consultant focuses on assessment, instruction, and curriculum design.  Jeanette believes that impactful professional development is job embedded, on-going and builds capacity at the building and district levels.  Jeanette is a certified fellow at the Center for the Study of Expertise in Teaching and Learning (now known as Communities for Learning).  Her work is featured in two professional books and she has published a guide for data analysis of state assessments, as well as a Handbook of Writing Strategies for Buffalo City Schools.   She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from SUNY Geneseo and her Master’s Degree in Reading Education from SUNY Brockport.  She holds teaching certificates in Elementary Education, Secondary Mathematics and K-12 Reading.

Mary Beth Elko is an Instructional Specialist with the Professional Learning  Team at Monroe #1 BOCES. Mary Beth’s experience includes instructional coaching, literacy best practices, project-based unit design, community building/adventure-based learning, analyzing student work, NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards/NGSS, and engagement protocols and strategies. Mary Beth comes to the Professional Learning Team with twenty years of teaching and leadership experience in the Syracuse City School District. She has earned a BS Degree from LeMoyne College, a Master’s Degree in Education from Syracuse University, and a CAS in Educational Leadership from Syracuse University.

Parker Ormerod is an Instructional Technology Specialist with the Professional Learning Team at Monroe #1 BOCES. Parker’s experience in Model Schools includes instruction coaching, technology integration, 1:1 implementation support, STEAM, STEM and elementary coding initiatives, G-Suite Level 1 Certified.  Parker comes to the team after 10 years as a Special Education Teacher and Education Technology Specialist. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Roberts Wesleyan College.

Doreen Pietrantoni is an Instructional Technology Specialist with the Professional Learning Team at Monroe #1 BOCES. Doreen’s Model Schools experience includes instruction coaching, technology integration, online learning specialist, 1:1 implementation specialist, distance learning project creation and facilitation, STEAM and STEM initiatives, Digital Citizenship Certified Educator, G-Suite Level 1 & 2 Certified, and Office 365 Certified.  Doreen comes to the team with five years of teaching experience grade 1 - 8 and twelve years as an Instructional Technology Specialist. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Canisius College and is currently working on her Education Leadership Master’s Degree from Stony Brook University.

Lisa Crane

Lisa Crane is an Administrative Assistant for the Professional Learning Team at Monroe #1 BOCES.  Lisa came to BOCES in November of 2016, and brings with her over 30 years of experience at Villa of Hope as an Administrative Assistant for Community Services and then Residential Services.  She earned her AAS Degree in Executive Secretarial Science form Alfred State.

Cheryl Dobbertin

Cheryl Dobbertin, Director of School Improvement at Monroe #1 BOCES, has been an English teacher, literacy coach, and building administrator.  For nearly a decade, Cheryl worked at Expeditionary Learning/EL Education where she helped design, start up, and transform existing schools to focus on project-based learning, student-engaged assessment practices, teacher leadership, and school culture.  She was also the lead designer of EL’s English Language Arts curriculum for grades 3-8 (available now on EngageNY) and provided years of professional development and research on the impact of the curriculum and its associated practices in classrooms across the country.  Cheryl is the author of Common Core Unit by Unit, published by Heinemann in 2013 and is a co-author of Transformational Literacy, published in 2014.   Her work has also been published in ASCD’s Differentiation in Practice: 9-12, Rachel Billmeyer’s Strategic Reading in the Content Areas, ASCD’s Education Leadership and EdWeek.
