VISION:
This is an assessment of how a child is using his/her vision in a functional manner. An ophthalmological report is required to address the medical condition specific to each child. The Vision teacher will determine the effect of visual loss, reduced acuity and/or visual field restriction on the student's ability to use instructional materials. Service and/or educational strategies will be recommended as necessary.
ORIENTATION & MOBILITY:
This is an examination of the student's travel skills in familiar and unfamiliar indoor and outdoor environments. Students are assessed using their visual skills, concept development, and low vision aides related to intermediate and distance tasks.
