The New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) recognized three members of Monroe One's Board of Education.

Nancy Semal, representing the East Irondequoit Central School District, was awarded the Board Mastery Award.

Rebecca Hicks, representing the East Rochester Union Free School District, was awarded the Board Achievement Award.

Margaret Burns, representing the West Irondequoit Central School District, was awarded the Board Achievement Award.

NYSSBA describes it's Board Excellence Program as a program that, "acknowledges the extensive time and effort required of school board members who continually strive to expand their knowledge and skills for better board governance."
