An LAI job coach is always onsite at one of the locations.

- Classroom Instruction focuses on soft skills necessary for competitive employment.

The Creekside school-age classrooms are designed to meet the comprehensive, sensory, behavioral and learning needs of students in a center based environment. Students are provided individual programs that may include supports and services such as speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, music therapy and/or counseling. Students participate in core academics within the classroom and transition to special subjects such as physical education, art, music, home and careers, health and vocational experiences. Beyond a rigorous academic program, Creekside focuses on developing daily living and pro-social skills for all students. All daily activities and lessons are designed to promote functional skill development. Students are provided with opportunities within the classroom as well as within the community (Community Based Instruction) to practice and generalize these skills.

The Creekside 12:1:4 Day Treatment program is offered in partnership with Hillside Children's Center. This program supports students with dual diagnoses, specifically, intellectual disability with co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Hillside provides the clinical and psychiatric services to the students and their families, coordinates with community service providers, and provides ongoing treatment and consultation. BOCES provides the educational, paraprofessional, and vocational staff for this program. The focus of day treatment is to provide comprehensive mental health care in the context of the school environment that offers a functional skills curriculum to prepare our youth for transition into the adult world.

The 12:1:4 Co-Teaching model features two special education teachers who deliver core instruction, along with specialized instruction as needed, to a diverse group of students in a single physical space. Students in Creekside’s co-teaching classes have access to a variety of instructional strategies supported by two expertly-trained instructors. With tiered levels of instruction in the classroom, education is tailored to meet the needs of the student. The co-teaching program also provides students with opportunities for peer interactions and exposes them to positive academic and social role models. This option is available as Centered Based for students who receive 12:1:4 programming at Creekside School.
