What is the purpose of the Monroe One BOCES Mini-Grant program?
To assist member certified school librarians in completing innovative, engaging and relevant educational projects and initiatives to increase student academic achievement.
Examples: Training on electronic/print library resources to students, staff and community members; support for school librarian and teacher collaboration on instructional unit design, etc. Funding for collaborative planning after school or to hire a substitute during the school day (reimbursement per the district contract rate. Contract documentation must be submitted with grant application).
Examples: An innovative collaborative event within your school building (family night, reading, coding or maker clubs, after‐school literacy‐based gaming program); training sessions and events that will open the library media center to students, staff and community members before or after school hours. NOTE: the grant funds may not be used to pay for food for these events.
Professional Development Programs
Examples: Staff development opportunities with BOCES, regional, state, or national conferences. Meals will only be reimbursed if included in registration fee. No alcohol will be reimbursed. Conference reimbursement could include registration, hotel, substitute teacher. Organizational memberships are not reimbursable. Conference attendance must occur by March 22, 2019.
