  • Description

    The Work Skills program offers students aged 14 to 22, an introduction to a work environment and expectations. It provides an opportunity to explore and to develop prevocational skills. Work Skills is a center-based prevocational program that provides an opportunity for students to discover their likes and dislikes in addition to their strengths and weaknesses. This is achieved through a variety of hands-on, creative, and effective tasks that include assembly projects, work simulations, and volunteer projects.

    • Following a basic routine.
    • Greeting a supervisor/peer.
    • Signing in/out.
    • Locating and understanding assignment.
    • Locating materials needed for assignment.
    • Identifying, sorting, assembling, matching, counting, filing, deliveries.
    • Basic introduction to food production, retail, clerical, maintenance, laundry, etc. through simulated activities.
