Jury Days
-
When you receive a notice of impending jury duty, please do the following:
- Contact your Supervisor as soon as you receive the notice of jury duty to inform them when you may be requested to attend jury duty.
- Follow the instructions on the jury notice to find out when/if you have to report. You must call your Supervisor daily on your need to report and the need for a substitute.
- When you are dismissed, obtain a receipt from the court stating the number of days you actually reported. This receipt must be turned in to your Supervisor in order for you to be paid by BOCES for those days. You will not collect pay from the court for those days.
- You will not lose any Personal or Sick days and it will not impact your pay if you submit the court receipt after the jury duty is complete.
- Contact your Supervisor as soon as you receive the notice of jury duty to inform them when you may be requested to attend jury duty.
