• Para Referral Program

  • $250 incentive for employees

Refer a full-time para educator candidate to be eligible

Monroe One is pleased to announce it is restarting an incentive for employees who can assist in recruiting efforts.

We are in great need of para educators to fill anticipated vacancies for the 2021-22 school year.

  • How it works:

Any current full- or part-time employee (except BASA) who refers a candidate for a full-time para educator position will be eligible for a $250.00 referral payment.

I know someone who is interested in applying, where can I send them?

Share our job postings located at monroe.edu/jobs

    What are the terms?

A referred candidate must be successfully interviewed and hired by the Board of Education. The hired candidate must then successfully complete all of their mandatory trainings including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention before payment will be authorized. The employee who made the referral will be paid through their paycheck.

How do we know who referred a candidate?

When a candidate comes in to interview, they will complete a form which asks them to indicate the name of the employee who referred them.

    When does this incentive start?

The Board of Education first approved the employee referral program to begin on July 1, 2021. It has been extended through June 30, 2022.

If I referred someone before this program, can I get the $250.00 referral payment?

No, as this is only for para educator candidates who were hired after July 1, 2021 and before June 30, 2022.

Is there a limit to the number of people I can refer for para educator positions?

No, you can refer as many candidates as you would like. As long as those referrals meet the terms described above, you would receive $250.00 for each candidate that is hired.

Is this limited to para educator referrals?

Yes. During this program, only para educator referrals are eligible for the $250.00 referral payment.

New minimum starting rate for Para Educators

The new starting minimum hourly rate for paras is $15.

Candidates can get credited for former experience

Monroe One can now credit up to three years of Para Educator experience if someone is coming from a similar outside agency.
